Obituary for William Ray Stewart

William Ray Stewart was born November 4, 1927 in Rupert, Idaho to Irvin Stewart and Olda Anderson Stewart. He was one of six children. His parents and siblings have all preceded him in death.
When he was 16, Bill joined the Navy. While on duty in California, he met Betty Jean Beaver. They were married on January 29, 1949. They had four children, Ken (Marion) Stewart, Jerry (Marlena) Stewart, Bill (Paula) Stewart and Karen (Clint) Thatcher. They have 16 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.
They raised their family in Arizona, Colorado and eventually Southern California. While there Bill volunteered with the Boy Scouts of America and was awarded the Silver Beaver award. They eventually moved to Lebanon, Oregon. Some of their happiest times were spent working in the stores at Yellowstone Park during their retirement.
Over the past three years Bill has resided at Brookdale Assisted Living Center in Lebanon and recently at Avamere, in Lebanon. The family wishes to thank all those who helped in his care and also Hospice for their care the last week. He died in Avamere at 90 years of age on June 27, 2018.
There will be no funeral services but Bill will be buried at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland.
