Obituary for Dorothy Ellen Cole (Inman)

Dorothy Ellen Cole (Inman)
Dorothy Ellen (Inman) Cole passed away May 29, 2018
peacefully in her home. She was 90 years old.
Dorothy was born November 27, 1927 in Veneta, Oregon
to Loris F and Eva M (Walker) Inman.
Dorothy attended and graduated from Elmira High School in 1945.
She married Quinton Marvin Cole of Elmira, Oregon October 24, 1948.
They lived in Veneta, Eugene, St. Helens, and settled in Lebanon, Oregon
where they purchased land, built their own home
and have spent the last 54 years.
Dorothy spent much of her life caring for her family and her church family.
Married at 21, she and Marvin started their life together in a small
home in Elmira. After having three daughters, they were given the
opportunity to settle in Lebanon. Dorothy and Marvin worked together to
start a small mechanic shop at the edge of town.
Dorothy spent her days raising children, teaching many, many children
in Bible study class, and running a farm with chickens, cows, a large garden
and so many beautiful flowers. Dorothy loved her farm, she planted every tree,
bush and flower that are still thriving today. Even in her final days,
she wished to plant flowers and get her hands in the dirt.
Dorothy was an amazing cook and baker including making bread for her
family every week and cooking for the church camp every summer.
She canned and jared everything she could from chicken to greens beans,
to plums and peaches. Dorothy had so much knowledge of the farm life,
something she has passed on to all of us close to her.
Her spunky self will be greatly missed.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and her
great grandson, Jonah. She is survived by her husband, daughters
Rose Marie (Dick) Miller, Alice Cole, and Ann Brown.
Also by granddaughters Cassandra (BJ) McCartney, and
Alicia (Zack Rote) Brown. Also Karen Snyder & Julie Crewdson.
There are 9 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.
